Take a Driving Tour Along the Maryland Crab & Oyster Trail
Did you know Maryland has an official State Crustacean? In Maryland, crabbing is an important part of not only our diets but also our heritage and economy. A commercial crabber on the Chesapeake Bay will usually set between 50 and 200 crab pots a day. The square trap is baited and tossed into the water, attached to a buoy or dock, and then harvested every couple days.
Savor the fruits of the Chesapeake Bay on a driving tour along the Maryland Crab & Oyster Trail of the Upper East Shore. Explore five-star restaurants, seafood markets, and some of the best crabs you’ve ever had served fresh from dock to table. Follow the locations on the trail below, find something nearby during your travels and adventures in the area, or pick your favorite! For a complete list of locations along the Trail, click here.
